Colophon

About

I write, paint, and photograph — these three currents run alongside the rest of my life and quietly feed each other. This site is where I keep what comes of them.

The essays tend toward whatever I'm thinking through at the moment: questions of craft, of attention, of the things worth looking at twice. The paintings are mostly oil and watercolor, often with sacred subjects, made slowly. The photographs are notes from places I've been — kept in series rather than feeds.

A note on the design

The site is set in Cormorant Garamond and EB Garamond, with a small concession to Inter Tight for navigational small-caps. The single accent of red is borrowed from the medieval rubric — used sparingly, and only where it earns its keep.
